Community Recreation Assistant, funded by Canada Summer Jobs
$15.30 – $15.40 / hour
We are accepting resumes until Monday May 27, 2024. The position will start in June and end in August.
St. Norbert Heritage & Community Activities
- Landscaping: Lawn mowing, planting, pruning, weeding and watering garden beds, riparian areas and flower pots;
- Community enhancement: picking up litter, maintaining boulevards and neighbourhood spaces;
- Maintenance: Painting, fixing and repairs to fences, signage, benches, etc.
- Construction: Building fences, sign posts, walkways, shelving and other small projects using power tools and hand tools.
Farmers’ Market Activities
- Preparing the site for a farmers’ market: setting up fencing, tables, chairs, garbages, recycling, compost, signage and tents;
- Cleaning and monitoring washrooms for cleanliness and supplies;
- Assisting Farmers’ Market Staff and Vendors when required;
- Working special events
- Customer service and family activities may also be required;
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- You are between 16-29 years of age;
- You can work independently, and with a team of peers;
- You can work some Saturdays in July and August;
- You are ok to work outside in summer weather and can lift up to 40 lbs
- You are able to work in Canada;
- You have independent transportation, or ability to bus/bike to work.
