We’re Hiring A Vendor Coordinator!
Reporting to the Executive Director, the St. Norbert Farmers’ Market (SNFM) Vendor Coordinator is responsible for organizing & coordinating the lead-up & day-of aspects of St. Norbert Farmers’ Market including administrative & financial tasks, as well as event organization, vendor relations, mapping, customer service & community engagement. St. Norbert Farmers’ Market is open year-round on Saturdays (and some Sundays in November & December)
- Wage: $23-27 / hour depending on experience and availability
- Hours: 20 – 28 hours per week
- Full-time contract with renewal option after 12 months

Job Description:
- Manage vendor application process, including approvals/rejections, dates, fees/dues & cooperative memberships;
- Manage all vendor payments and weekly collections, SNFM equipment rentals and other monies as assigned;
- Responsible for financial deposits, petty cash & gift certificates;
- Manage vendor software, including placement & mapping;
- Coordinate community booths, buskers, occasional family activities & promotional events;
- Enforce SNFM’s Co-op Bylaws, Vendor Guidelines & ‘Make It, Bake It, Grow It’ Guidelines;
- Enforce all municipal, provincial and federal regulations vendors are required to follow, and liaise with ‘Make It, Bake It, Grow It’ Inspectors and MB Health & Agriculture officials;
- Manage vendor concerns, citations & conflict towards cooperative resolution;
- Gather and report feedback from vendors, volunteers, staff and customers;
- Manage confidential data, vendor information & farmers’ market documents;
- Organize, coordinate and report all farmers’ market activities using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canva, Mailchimp and other shared tools;
- Provide customer service to visitors & guests;
- Engage in basic maintenance and site safety;
- Take a lead role in first aid emergencies;
- Work with volunteers, supervise seasonal and part-time Market Assistants;
- Attend meetings, sector events, professional development training or conferences as required;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High level of organization, time management and event logistics experience;
- Proficiency in basic accounting and financial management;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills regarding customer service, vendor relations and teamwork;
- High level understanding of entrepreneurism, agriculture &/or the arts;
- Experience supervising employees and coordinating large groups of people;
- Interest and passion for farmers’ markets as an entrepreneurial channel.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as shovelling snow, chipping ice, setting up canopies & signs, carrying tables and garbage;
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours in outdoor conditions year-round;
- Confidence to execute First Aid and Emergency Preparedness protocols;
- Comfort working in a dynamic, noisy, public environment.
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license;
- Reliable transportation;
- Access to a home office;
- Must be available to work Saturdays.
